| Tell us about you; your background. |
| I’m passionate about helping leaders become authors to open new doors and grow themselves/their business. I have 6 Amazon best-selling books (most renown is Conscious Culture) and I’m the creator of Cards for Culture (a hands-on new way to create and drive workplace culture. Last year I was named a top leader for Ohio businesses. |
| Business is all about overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities for growth. What do you see as the real challenge right now? |
| I love to disrupt, challenge the status quo, fly in the face of convention. But I’m also a people pleaser. Those don’t go well together. In today’s world, there’s so much negativity, we have to say things so that others can hear it. Adjust our style. Lead with heart. My dad had to remind me of this – he said, “Mel, you can’t make everyone like you – when you tell it like it is.” I want to resonate with those who appreciate authentic heart-lead leadership. I’d like to think that’s a lot of people coming out of COVID, political distress, social upheaval – we all have work to do in order to come together and make the world a better place. |
| On a lighter note, if you had the ability to pick any business superpower, what would it be and how would you put it into practice? |
| To help every leader overcome their feelings of inadequacy / imposter syndrome that happens when you lean into your greatness. We hear this from authors all the time. It’s like standing naked in front of a crowded room. Rip off the bandaid and keep moving – you deserve to be heard. |
